Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) are opening up exciting new applications in the area of white lighting and displays. OLEDs have low power consumption, as they emit their own light.  They are made of flexible films, which allow them to be used for curved displays, providing an advantage over LCDs and plasma screens.  Today OLEDs are found in smartphones, digital cameras and PDAs.
