Online Library TheLib.net » The Emerging Digital Economy: Entrepreneurship, Clusters, and Policy

The technological dynamics of the digital age continue to impact the decisions of industries and firms on where to locate and where they tend to cluster geographically. Some of the impacts and structural patterns are consistent with the old or Fordist economic era; some are not.

The contributors to this book provide a balanced view of the "Digital Economy" perspective and through new analyses illustrate where dynamics seem to be emerging and where more traditional patterns seem to be holding. The editors provide a synthesis that places the contributions in a broader frame. More than just a perspective on the digital economy based only on interpretive analysis, this book utilizes empirical analysis in its assessment of the dynamics of specific regions in different parts of the world. The book also examines the policy implications of the rising Digital Economy. The reader will gain considerable new insight founded on facts.
