He is best noted for his book The Wizard of Ox. Baum used several pen names when writing different series. He used the pen name Edith van Dyke when writing books for adolescent girls. The Enchanted Island of Yew: Whereon Prince Marvel Encountered the High Ki of Twi and Other Surprising People is a Wildside fantasy written in 1903.
