A supplementary volume to the ten-volume set of the same name, published between 1991 and 1996. It expands and updates the parent set with articles on cultures included in the original set, as well as presenting entirely new entries on cultures not previously covered. Updated articles in the supplement contain cross-references to the original article in the parent set. Also includes indexes by culture name (ethnonym) and by country. Articles in this volume include treatment of new cultures such as Rwandans and Barundi; new and updated articles on cultures heavily influenced or changed by recent political events such as Bosnian Muslims in Yugoslavia and Uzbeks in Afghanistan; and expansion of articles on cultures of "classic" interest such as the Crow and Zulu.
