Conformal antennas design is a new approach of interest to those in radar and communication systems and antenna engineers, creating antennas that conform to a surface whose shape is determined by considerations other than electromagnetic; for example, aerodynamic or hydrodynamic. This book provides a fundamental understanding of the characteristics of conformal antennas and when to use them as well as hands-on information necessary for the analysis and design of conformal antenna arrays. Specific examples of conformal antenna designs are provided along with detailed illustrations. The analysis is then extended to non-canonical doubly curved surfaces and dielectric covered surfaces with a high frequency method.
