Ebook: Classical Japanese grammar illustrated with texts

This book was written in order to provide foreign students who already possess a fair command of modern Japanese with the basic knowledge necessary for the reading of Japanese classical texts. Several studies and handbooks devoted to Japanese classical grammar have already been published in the West, but the beginner hitherto has had no textbook in which he could obtain a clear and systematic introduction to the subject, with sufficient illustrative and practice material to enable him to master the elements of the grammar within a reasonably short period of time. It is in the hope of filling this need that the present work has been compiled.
