Since the formation of popular cultures beginning in the mid 19th Century, epistemological and scientific formats have formed part of the default ensemble of their formats, productions, series and repertoire of tropes. The contributions in this volume discuss the complementary relationship between science and its popularization, their synergetic relationships and sociocultural effects, the logic proper to transforming media formats and forms of presentation, as well as their inscription in the process of the constitution of knowledge. In the process, they focus on pop-cultural mediatizations of historic scenes of knowledge and science between the late 19th and early 21st Centuries in the media, on the stage, in books and magazines, and on television and the internet.
