Lawrence Dennis (1893-1977) was an American writer who focused on History, Politics, and Economics. His book "A Trial On Trial" is an account of the Great Sedition Trial of 1944. Dennis recounts his argument that the defendants in this case were not trying to undermine the morale of the U.S. Armed Forces. Prosecutor Rogge failed to present any compelling evidence. The trial effectively came to a close with the death of Judge Edward C. Eicher. Arthur Derounian, an agent for the ADL, worked to discredit American writers who were against getting involved in WWII. The basis for the prosecution of this trial was largely based on Derounian's book "Under Cover", published under his pen name, John Roy Carlson.
