In Japan, Dean taught English at Tokyo Kyoiku Daigaku (Tokyo Education University) and at Fukushima University. He was also a teacher trainer for the Toyama Prefectural Board of Education. Dean is the Managing Director of The East West Group, Inc., a consulting firm located in Mill Valley, California, specializing in cross-cultural business and human resource development. Ken Murakami, a Kyoto native based in the U.S., has served as president of the National Business Institute, senior advisor to Intercultural Communication Specialists and director of Intercultural Training Resources, Inc.
