Clostridium Difficile is a gram-positive anaerobic, spore-forming bacterium involved in antibiotic-associated diarrhea and colitis, which is developed after administration of antibiotics. C. difficile is nosocomially transmissible via hospital staff and contaminated environmental surface, as well between patients. C. difficile infection results in a broad spectrum of disease ranging from mild diarrhea to severe life-threatening condition.
