This issue focuses on the development and implementation of communitypolicing around the world. I am indebted to Professor Maria Haberfeld of theJohn Jay College of Criminal Justice who put this issue together. Dr Haberfeldhas brought together a diverse group of scholars and her efforts have produceda timely assessment of police strategies internationally. This issue alsocontains our regular features, ‘‘Perspectives on policing’’ and an Internetresource review. As always, we welcome your suggestions and opinions on how we canimprove the journal.
