The rise of terrorism has become a major factor in the destabilization of global structures since the end of the Cold War. Large-scale, high-impact terrorist attacks have occurred nearly every year since the 1990s. Many countries, regardless of their stability or volatility, have been hit by this new wave of terrorist tactics. This book argues that, in considering the increasing threat that global terrorism poses, it is necessary for us to know what terrorism is - not only its theoretical definitions, but its major features and its possible development trends in the future. The book discusses terrorist attacks throughout the world and analyzes the nature of these attacks. It presents a view that, although the establishment of effective preventive policies is an important step to erase breeding spaces for terrorism, the establishment of an equal international order is more important. In reality, as long as there is perpetual peace between nations, different ethical systems, and a just society as a whole, equal economic development between nations can be realized. With equal opportunity, the book takes the view that terrorist threats will be eradicated. (Series: China International Analysis and Evaluation Reports)
