The author truthfully records and affectionately recalls the whole communication with 28 old scholars, such as Zhang Zhongxing, Xiao Qian, Li Rui, Shu Wu, Li Shenzhi and Zi Zhongyun, Liu Shahe and Lan Yingnian and first makes public the handwriting letters of these old scholars. The readers can not only learn the stories behind the publication of many heavyweight manuscripts of Bookstore magazine from these letters but also feel "the style of scholars" from these old intellectuals. The whole book has nearly 200,000 characters and even involves over 100 figures besides 28 old scholars who were all born after the 1980s. From a special point of view, it shows the spiritual temperament and feelings for the home and country of a generation of intellectuals and leaves a valuable record for the most influential "old scholars" in the current ideological and cultural circles.
