Reinbot's von Durne courtly romance Saint George, published around 1240, is among the most significant medieval narratives of the life of Saint George. In around 6,000 verses it narrates the early life of the Saint, his confrontation with the emissaries of the Roman Empire, and, finally, his long martyrdom.
