Ebook: Erzählen im Zwischenraum: Narratologische Konfigurationen immanenter Jenseitsräume im 12. Jahrhundert

In the 12^th-century, islands, caves, and forests became settings for extraordinary narratives of the beyond. The protagonists physically occupy the spaces of paradise and purgatory in non-visionary ways, have otherworldly, eschatological experiences, and return to the world unscathed. This work examines narratological interpretations of this epistemological conundrum – from diachronic, discourse historical, and cultural studies perspectives.
