The authors examine structural policy in West and East Germany in the second half of the 20^th century, considering institutions, instruments, and interpretations. They analyze both national contexts as well as the actors and affected persons in different federal states and regions to show the scope of the political efforts in both German states that were directed at managing structural economic change and its impacts.
