This book covers basic digital technology. Since basic digital technology is largely concerned with combinational and sequential circuits, this is covered extensively in the book. Many of the circuits are also described in the standardized hardware description language VHDL, which is used in an increasing number of synthesis tools. This provides a small introduction to VHDL and its use in the synthesis of simple fundamental digital circuits.

The book includes a large number of exercises with answers.

The book is intended for training in digital technology at university level. It can also be used by those who want to learn digital technology on their own. No special prior knowledge of mathematics and electronics is required.
