This book is a comprehensive resource that covers the analysis, examples, and design aspects of heterogeneous reactions and reactors. It provides a theoretical foundation for understanding heterogeneous reactions, along with practical examples and case studies. Volume 1 deals essentially with systems in which a solid phase appears either as catalyst or as a reactant; the second reactant is a gas or a solid, but one case of a system in which the second reactant is a liquid (the immobilized enzyme system) has also been included, in view of the similarity of approaches.
