Mandarin Chinese language consists of thousands of complicated characters. In order to have a decent conversation with a native Chinese speaker, a foreigner need to learn nearly 3,000 characters. The books in Simple Chinese Sentences series provide you a variety of sentences for Chinese reading comprehension (汉语阅读理解). Each of the Chinese sentence includes pinyin and two English interpretations. All the sentences contain at least one idiom (please refer to the books in Chinese Idiom Series for more details). So, when you learn reading the sentences in this book, you will naturally learn famous Chinese proverbs (汉语成语, hànyǔ chéngyǔ). The book also provides you a list of the important idioms. All the characters and phrases are provided with simplified characters, pinyin and English interpretations.
