Guitar for Kids is a clear and fun guide on the first steps of learning to play Guitar with over 70 colour photographic examples, purpose-made diagrams and cartoons. Starting with advice on buying your first guitar, how to hold the guitar and how to tune it, then progressing to simple melodies using only open strings (open strings means only the plucking hand is used). Towards the back are Blues and Rock duets to play with a friend. The musical pieces in styles like Rock, Blues, Pop, Flamenco, Jazz and Reggae have 47 downloadable audio tracks with full band demo and backing track with guitar part removed to play over. Guitar for Kids uses mostly guitar tablature (as do most other guitar method books). Reading rhythm is covered within the chords section so that by the time you get to the sight-reading section the only unfamiliar aspect is reading different notes (such as E, F, G etc.). The book goes into some detail for basic techniques because you might as well get it right from the start rather than develop bad habits, and is presented in a clear and fun way. EZ chords are covered (easy chords with less notes). There is an introduction to Power chords with some rock pieces to play named after yummy greens "Broccolli Rockilly" and "Rocket Salad" and at the back of the book there is a quiz, no cheating! Please Note: The eBook includes musical pieces so is not suitable for smaller screens.
