This book is intended for the student who has mastered the basic grammatical rules of Uzbek. The texts have been arranged topically, but not in order of progressive difficulty. The student is, therefore, advised to start with the selection of fairy tales. Next, the stories by Ŭlmas Umarbekov may be read. The stories about little children by Karim Rahim are also written in a simple style. From there on the student can choose whatever topic or writer is of interest to him.
