Universidad de Indiana cuenta con la presencia de destacados expertos tanto nacionales como
internacionales. Ellos abordarán la situación de las lenguas indígenas y culturas de América
Latina desde múltiples perspectivas. Esperamos que el presente evento académico constituya un
terreno abonado para el intercambio de conocimientos y experiencias de una manera alturada. Al
mismo tiempo deseamos que los resultados de los debates sean fructíferos. Les agradezco
profundamente por haber venido a la bella ciudad de Bloomington para participar en STILLA.

In our capacity as organizers, we would like to offer you a warm welcome to the First
Symposium on the Teaching of Indigenous Languages of Latin America (STILLA). For this
event, the University of Indiana has invited both nationally and internationally renowned experts,
who will discuss the present circumstances of indigenous Latin American languages and cultures
from a variety of perspectives. We hope this academic event will provide fertile terrain for a
high-level exchange of knowledge and experiences, and that the debates inspired will offer
fruitful results. We thank everyone for coming to the beautiful city of Bloomington to
participate in STILLA. Long live our languages!
