This is the third edition of what I hope will continue to be the best guide to the region for the adventurous traveller.

Once again the "yellow book" has been totally revised and updated with much new information added and many of the maps redrawn. Each country has a comprehensive coverage of the best cheap places to stay and eat, the most interesting ways of getting around, things to see, where to collect visas, even what to buy.

In researching this new edition I've revisited many places, some in much greater detail than before, but just as important has been the amazing amount of feedback from people who have used the previous editions. To all of you - thank you.
