Public domain editions by various publishers ·have appeared in the interim, but the
current "out of print" status of the Handbook has been a cause of lament by interested
students and microwave researchers. The decision by the Institution of Electrical
Engineers to undertake a new printing remedies this condition and comes as a persona!
pleasure and tribute to the efforts of the individuals acknowledged in the originai preface.
The new edition also provides an opportunity to correct a partial list of typographical and
substantive errors pointed out over the past years by colleagues.
