This study focuses on the history of rural development thinking in Indonesia. Although the main feature is more concern to the academic thinking, namely the agricultural scientists who were assembled in the group of "Bogor School of Thought " in the second half of the decade of the twentieth century, it’s inevitable to talk about the history of thought of the idea manifested as government policy, the ideas of other academicians, striving and activism of social movements and organizations.
