The monograph deals with issues related to refrigerated rolling stock used on Russian railways, outlines the ways of its development and improvement. Taking into account modern achievements in the field of materials science, ways to improve the design of the body of refrigerated vehicles are proposed, which make it possible to significantly reduce the heat transfer coefficient, practically eliminate body corrosion and ensure their service life of up to 40 years without deterioration of operational indicators. Justification of expediency of using refrigerated containers for transportation of perishable goods is given.
