So, Zombies are " hot" in fiction, lately.
So far this year , without planning to read a bunch of zombie books, I have read The Passage ( some very good parts, but it would have been a better book if it had been a few hundred pages shorter) , World War Z ( pretty good) and Dust, which was kind of dull and unconvincing. (Plus some others I can't recall.)
I loved Feed, though!
It has a simple but clever concept- that zombies were created when the cures for cancer and the cold combined in an unexpected way, and that bloggers are the superstars of the post- zombie virus world. More character driven than action oriented, I enjoyed the relationships between the 3 main characters ( all bloggers) and how the author worked in a lot of backstory about the zombie apocalypse, without dragging down the main narrative.
This is the most fully realized and convincing zombie world in any of the recent books, and I look forward to the next book in the series.
