Iain Macwhirter is an award-winning political commentator for the Sunday Herald and the Herald. Iain started at the BBC as a researcher after graduating from Edinburgh University, and became the BBC's Scottish Political Correspondent in 1987. In 1990 he moved to London to present political programs for BBC network television such as ""Westminster Live"" and ""Scrutiny."" He was a member of the Westminster Lobby for nearly 10 years and columnist for a number of national newspapers, including the Observer and the Scotsman. In 1999 he returned to Scotland to help launch the Sunday Herald and to page.
