Drawing on recent advances in analytic epistemology, feminist scholarship and philosophy of science, the author of this work proposes a feminist theory of knowledge.

Jane Duran begins at the intersection between
recent work in naturalized contemporary
theory of knowledge and feminist
theory. Her account not only elaborates on
the possibility of rigorous feminist epistemology,
but serves as an introduction to the
androcentrism inherent in so much
epistemological theorizing itself. Part One
spells out what has counted as epistemology
in the past, and why it is androcentric. In
Part Two, Duran carefully and thoroughly
develops a feminist theory of knowledge
based on the moves in contemporary
theorizing that are now available to us. Part
Three ties together the feminist views from
other disciplines or modes of viewing. Part
Four reviews the arguments of the preceding
chapters and prognosticates about the future
of feminist epistemology, paying special attention
to the most recent work in cognition
and philosophy of mind.
