This title includes a unique contribution to an emerging field. It combines aspects of theory and practice, process and product. It provides first hand information from some of the key artistic representatives of the field. It includes contributors that span four countries (UK, Germany, Switzerland, Greece) and several of the contributors work creatively or academically in an international arena. 'Composed Theatre' aims to map the field of a form of 'composed theatre', which uses musical strategies of organization in the composition of all theatrical means. This book will provide interviews and discussions with key practitioners as well as scholarly articles on historical and theoretical aspects of composed theatre. While the focus of the book is on the European part of the field, the questions and methodologies are currently being discussed beyond Europe, e.g. in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
