The book explores the cataclysmic transitions in the discipline of postcolonial studies. It focuses on how the rise of a distinct and challenging corpus of writing by the Third World Intelligentsia has led to a radical shift in the understanding and conceptualization of postcolonial issues. Notions such as Cosmopolitanism, Transnationalism, and Globalization neither obliterate the specificities of the “postcolonial” nor undermine the challenges they pose to postcoloniality.
