Pages 1-94, written in 1932-33, were first published as Schöpfung und Fall (Chr. Kaiser Verlag, Munich) in 1937, and in English in 1959. They were translated by John C. Fletcher and the editorial staff of the SCM Press. Creation and Fall in English was reprinted in 1960 and 1962.
Pages 95-128 were written in 1937, were first published as Versuchung (Chr. Kaiser Verlag, Munich) in 1953, and in English in 1955. They were translated by Kathleen Downham. Temptation in English was reprinted in 1956, 1959, 1961, 1963, and 1964.
