Ebook: Africa and the Victorians: The Official Mind of Imperialism

The main text discusses the Victorians’ motives for partitioning Africa. To this Ronald Robinson has now added a new introduction which considers the design of the work in the earlier historiographical setting. At the end of the book, some broad inferences for the causes of partition arid for imperial theory, which were drawn after the first edition was published, have been added in a new chapter.
