Krishna in the guise of a charioteer to arjuna urges hime not be sorrowful, not to fear death, since he know he is immortal, that nothing which changes can be in the real nature of man. He who find inaction in action, and action in inaction, he is the wise one among men; he is engaged in yoga and is a performer of all actions O sinless one, this most secret scripture has thus been uttered by Me; understanding this, one becomes wise and has his duties fulfilled.
The commentary of Shankara on the Gita is regarded as an outstanding specimen of Indian scholarship. The translator has accomplished his task in a most praiseworthy manner by giving a faithful translation, without in any way detracting from the strength or clarity of the original commentary. The inclusion of a ‘word index’ of the entire text has added to the worth of the book.
