亚尔莫林斯基所编译的这本《维特伯爵回忆录》是维特遗稿最先出版的版本。1923年德国人黑森（Hessen）根据维特的遗稿，将维特回忆录整理为三卷。1923—1924年苏联根据这个版本出版了俄文三卷本。亚尔莫林斯基的这个英文节译本虽较俄文三卷本简略，但大体上还是反映了维特一生的全貌的。
