Ebook: Al qaida ante el Derecho Internacional

The purpose of this work is to find an answer to this question: is International Law able to confront the threat al-Qaeda poses to the International Community? The methodology chosen for the investigation is an insider/outsider approach aimed at contrasting and comparing the Western legal system and way of thinking to that of the Sunni Islam. The legal consequences derived from the relationship between God and Man in Islam and in Christianity and the concepts of Derekh, Derecho, Sharia, Fortitudo, Esfuerzo and Jihad, are studied in extent as necessary steps prior to describing and analyzing what al-Qaeda means and how contemporary International Law deals with al-Qaeda itself and with the security issues related to it.
