Sie gewahren Einblick in das Werden und die Ausbreitung der pietistischen Bewegung und sind daruber hinaus von einzigartigem Informationswert fur viele Gebiete des geistigen und gesellschaftlichen Lebens auch ausserhalb des religios-kirchlichen Raumes.Mit der vorliegenden Edition werden die Quellen erstmals in einer historisch-kritische Aufbereitung zuganglich gemacht.Die Briefe sind chronologisch geordnet, mit einleitenden Regesten und mit einem textkritischen und einem kommentierenden Apparat versehen.
