First published in 1897, this interlinear has become a standard study tool for locating the Greek words behind specific passages in the King James Version and for easier reading of the Greek New Testament. In distinction to Marshall's work with the Nestle Greek text, the Stephens 1550 Greek text is used. This text has generally been referred to as the Textus Receptus. The Stephens edition differs little from the 1588 and 1589 Beza editions of the Greek text that the King James translators used as a basis for their work. The parallel English text is the King James Version and the interlinear is Berry's own literal translation. A concise lexicon and a special synonym section are included. The lexicon itself contains much synonym information along with brief definitions. An index to the lexicon and the synonym section points the reader to all discussions of synonyms.
