It includes Epictetus' Enchiridion and selections from his Discourses. There is an ancient "urban legend," that, Epictetus, who had been a slave, was being punished for something by his master. The man had nim bound, or held down, and he was twisting his leg. Despite his pain Epictetus told him that if he kept twisting his leg, it would break. Eventually, he did break his leg, and Epictetus is supposed to have told him, "See? I told you it would break."
