I bought this to review for a test after not having thought about chemistry for several years. Overall, the work is strong as a review or as a supplement to another more in-depth text. You will proceed from the most basic concepts to the harder work of applying those concepts to chemistry problems. If you are primarily a visual learner, I would speak against this text as a base of learning because there are no pictures to illustrate what can be some very hard concepts to conceptualize and pictures do help. Another weakness of the work is that it is based primarily on answering questions. This is important and helpful, but the structure is such that the answers are just below the questions. The layout makes it hard to sometimes answer the questions as the answers are directly below it. If you do buy this text, I would recommend finding and printing out a periodic table to refer to as the included table is rather short on information and the periodic table is a very powerful tool for understanding the science of chemistry
