This is the second of the two volumes entitled l1ethods of Celestial :dechanics: Application to
Planetary System, Geodynamics and Satellite Geodesy. It consists of Part II: Applications and
Part III: Program System.
Part II focuses on applications of astrodyrrnmics. The developments are based on lecture notes
about Celestial lIechanics of the planetary systern and of artificial satellites, and about the
rotation of Earth and :Moon. The lectures were intended for diploma students of astronomy, physics,
rnathematics, and gcography at thc Univcrsity of Dcrn in thcir first tlucc academic years. In
view of the broad and inhomogeneous audience, the lectures had to be sclf consistent and hased on
simple, generally knovm physical and mathematical facts and concepts.
