Comer’s first-order weighing-factor method of discussing bore resistance has been generalised to the case when the component charges may have general form-functions and from these some general results about ballistic effects of bore resistance on maximum pressure, all-burnt position and muzzle velocity have been obtained under assumptions which are shown to be extremely plausible.
