Ebook: Reconsidering the 1848 Khoqand documents, stored at the National Palace Museum (Taipei)

History and Culture, 2013, No 49.A large number of diplomatic documents belonging to the Qing period are stored at the National Palace Museum in Taipei. The collection includes the two documents in 1848, written in Arabic script Turki, addressed from the Khoqand khanate. In this paper, mainly on the basis of these documents, we make some revisions in the earlier interpretation and provide some additional explanation, taking into accaunt the features of the documents and their historical background.
