Berlin, 1990. - 31 pages.
Although Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) wrote Treasure Island (1883) as an adventure story for young people, its romantic atmosphere - the voyage into the distant unknown - is mixed with realism.
Stevenson is one of the great writers of adventure stories. There is no moralizing, and the brilliant character description - Long John Silver, for example, or Ben Gunn - and the vivid story-telling, a romantic tale set in the late 18th century, still attract the reader. Treasure Island is his best-known book. Others are the psychological crime story The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and the fairytale The Bottle Imp.
