In the first part, Yakan words are listed in alphabetical order with English equivalents. In the second part an English Index is given where English words are listed in alphabetical order followed by their Yakan equivalent. So if you want to look up a certain word in either language go to the appropriate section and find it.
In order to have this book in a small enough format so that it can easily be carried to school, no sentence examples or lists have been included. But some lists (tables) are added at the end in an appendix.
A larger dictionary is also available that includes sentence examples in the Yakan-English section for many of the entries to show how a particular word is used in Yakan. An English translation of the sentences is also provided. This larger dictionary also includes lists of related words either in tables or appendices.
