And inevitably this contact breeds the borrowing of words between languages. In other words, there appear a great number of loanwords in any language and this is especially true for English and Chinese. This paper is concerned about loanwords in English and Chinese, and the characteristics of their language contact, thus further promoting language contact between these two languages and the communication between China and other English-speaking countries.
