Not known, 1998. — 19 p.Burushaski (stress on the second syllable) is spoken by some fifty thousand people in northern Pakistan, the Hunzakuts, who live in the valleys of the Hunza and Yasin rivers (north of Gilgit) where these cut through the Karakoram Range [lit.ref. 5]. The language is not obviously related to any of the surrounding languages: the Indic languages of Pakistan or the Tibetan languages of China and northern Kashmir.
