129 pages.
The Album for the Young (German: Album für die Jugend) Op. 68, was composed by Robert Schumann in 1848 for his three daughters. The album consists of two sections: "Für Kleinere" (for the younger ones) and "Für Erwachsenere" (for the more grown-ups), together 18 + 25 = 43 pieces. Furthermore there is an appendix ("Nachgelassene Stücke") of 14 pieces originally intended for the album, which were not included in the original printed collection. The Album for the Young is "suitable to be played by children or beginners. The second part contains more demanding pieces."
Beside the Album for the Young, the pdf file also contains the Three Sonatas for the Young (Jugendsonaten), Op. 118 (46 pages).
Schumann had his own daughters in mind for the utterly charming Klavier-Sonaten für die Jugend (Piano Sonatas for the Young).

Following the resounding success of his “Album for the Young” op. 68, it seemed natural for Schumann to compose further works with an educational aim. This was part of a contemporary trend and his own children gave him many ideas. The Three Sonatas op. 118 are dedicated to his eldest daughters Marie, Elise and Julie, and can be understood as character studies of the three very different girls. They are comparatively demanding teaching material, although Schumann had intended this: “The young must also become accustomed to performing longer movements”. Not only advanced students of the piano will enjoy these charming “sonatas for the young”!
