The authors used methodological means that can be called an expansion-and-condensation technique, because it teaches one, on the one hand, to build up, or expand, a text’s meaning and structure in accordance with certain schemes, and on the other hand, to compress, or condense, an existing text to its meaningful nucleus.
The book consists of two parts: the introductory and the basic course. The corrective course has been put together on the basis of well-known and well-tried methodological principles, though gradually the ideas of expansion and the condensation make their appearance here, too.
