Barbeau Marius. - Ottawa: National Museum of Canada, 1960. VI, 337 p. (Bulletin No. 165)The method adopted for recording the Wyandot texts consisted of hiring the informants and interpreters by the day, and of taking the narratives down in dictation using phonetics. When the text was completed, with interlinear space left for each line of text, the translations were later made with the help of the interpreter in consultation with the informant and the author. To clarify a number of points, additional linguistic data were then added, to be utilized eventually in the preparation of a full lexicon and grammar (these are now under preparation).
